Tooele Mommies Halloween Party

Ok so I guess we can't expect much out of Tooele...LOL. This was a fun little gathering for free and they had some fun stuff for the kids to do but only about 5 tables worth. It was pretty small and for Gracie there wasn't much for her to do at all. We still had fun though! Gracie wouldn't put on her costume so she is just in her sweats. She got a frosted cookie, her picture on a haystack, and her face painted with a little flower. Mom got one too! LOL From the pictures it doesn't look like Gracie had much fun and I guess maybe she didn't but she sure had fun at Carl's Jr. afterwards!

She wouldn't smile for the picture on teh haystack...yikes.

Getting ready to get her flower on her cheek. She didn't know what to think about this lady doing it!

Mommy and Gracie's flowers on our cheeks.

Sis loving on her BUBU!

Ok so once again I will say this is my favorite time of the day...when we are all home as a family getting ready for bed. This is what Kelton gets when he is home...his sister following him all over the place, or sword fighting with him. Then when it is time to sit down and watch a family movie we look over and she has picked her comfy spot right on top of bubu. Kelton loves it though. If she moves or gets off he will go get her and put her back on his lap. The movie we watched last night was pretty good so he was pretty serious while I was taking pictures but they are so cute!
Here they are in Kelt's favorite Star War's pj's that he insists on wearing every night even though he has 10 other jammies and Gracie in her Minnie Mouse pj's that she wears every night even though she has 20 other jammies. They are so much alike.

She fell asleep on Brother's lap.

HALLELUJAH 49,600 files transfered!

I know I have alot to say these past few days. I usually post every week but I guess I just have alot on my mind right now:)
So I have been dealing with a computer that just up and shuts off on me about every 10 minutes...I sometimes get away with 30 minutes and I am seriously jumping for joy. Then Max said "Linds, I dont know much about computers but dont we need a hard drive to back everything up?" So I was like yes you are compltetely right and with all my pictures on my computer I dont know what I was thinking not having one in the first place. I am just lucky that my computer didn't just seize up and I could've lost everything. Sooooo I got the hard drive and did all the backups and it feels so good. It wasn't an easy process for me considering it was a lot for my lovely computer to handle so it would shut off every 10 minutes so I would have to come in restart and get everything going again...errrrggghhh! So it seriously took me 2 whole days.
Conclusion: my computer was shutting down because it had too much on there for the memory it could hold, which I knew from the very beginning but for some reason just dealt with it by restarting it instead of fixing the problem. So I did this not only to save my precious items but so I could delete them off my computer so it will feel better! I seriously feel like my computer is sick...hahaha.
So to put a picture to this story of why it was shutting down....um I only had to transfer 49,600 files and pictures onto my external hard drive! So when I tell you I am a picture freak I mean it, and the worst part is I could have 10 of the same picture and cant bring myself to let it go! YIKES

Painful Periods...MAKE SURE TO READ THIS POST!

Ok so I decided to just copy and paste this post from my friend's blog because she said it much better than I could and I thought it was so interesting. So I hope this is legal in the blogging world and I hope it is ok with you T!

So I dont think I have shared about my painful ovarian cyst disease that I have PCOD that causes me not to get pregnant (Max and I haven't had one ounce of protection since Gracie was born, yeah no baby) and also causes me to have to get 4-9 shots in my stomach every single month! Not fun at all. Seriously the pain of the shots are much better than the pain I get with my cysts. The whole thing is just a dead end and I have tried everything and nothing is fixing it except for these shots.

Then I read this post below and thought hmmmm maybe I will give this a try and maybe I will go without the shots after a month of just doing organic. So this will be a big experiment for me so we will see how it goes. I have already done organic milk because I really would rather Gracie not get her period in 3rd grade so I will start with the other basic's and see where it gets me. I will give an update next month.

POST BY MY FRIEND T' ANN:

My Organic Life:Ok.....I admit that I am a freak when it comes to food! And yes, mostly all of my groceries I purchase are organic, right down to my toothpaste! (except tortillas, I swear those go bad in two days.) So lets set the record straight! At home I eat organic ~ but I still go out to restaurants and sneak some Cheetos every once and while.......and NO I don't snub food at peoples houses or BBQ's even though I know I just ate a mouth full of pesticides and human growth hormone. Mmmmmm....
Getting to my point:When I met with the Invitro doctor he was amazed that I have such severe endometriosis but showed no symptoms. No painful periods. (That's right I am going to talk about the "P" word. For all you men reading this blog here is your escape route: Click Here

I would like to try an experiment:Ever since that bitch Aunt Flow came into my life I had always had horrible, knife stabbing, want to jump off a cliff, stay home from school bed ridden, cramps and painful periods. It was like that for 8 years. Then I made the organic switch. I started eating organic taking baby steps and the first thing I switched was to organic milk, cheese, & eggs. Within maybe 3 months the pain was gone! No cramps & my period lasts 3 days instead of 7! Hallelujah! I have shared this with a couple of my friends and they have also seen the results. Obviously this is just from my own personal experience, I am not a doctor so don't get all up in my grill if this little experiment doesn't work. But you can shower me with presents if it DOES work for you and cures your every month woes!

How to: Avoid food (especially milk, cheese, eggs, etc.) with antibiotics, synthetic hormones or pesticides. Then make sure that the animal has been raised humanely, is able to graze, and given certified organic feed— never any animal by-products — and make sure it is certified organic.I would give you a list of brands to buy, but what's the fun of that?! Go, discover, search, & make the decision yourself! Mostly every grocery store will carry at least those few organic items. However if you don't live close to Wild Oats, Good Earth, or Whole Foods good to your local Harmon's. Especially the new one off of I-15 and Bangerter, I am in love with it!Message me if you are going to try this! Even if only one person does this, it will be exciting!

THE RACE IS ON...Kelton's Space Derby for scouts

The Big Race this morning started off with a big race to get this family out the door and down to Taylorsville by 10:00am! LOL That was my race for the day anyways. I swear the days we have something going on the kids sleep in but any other day they are up at 6:30am. Anyways, that is not what is important...it is all about Max and Kelton working so hard on this Space Derby and they wanted so badly to have the best one there was. This is all new to Max and Kelton though because this is his first time in scouts. The first heat their Space Derby was in they took FIRST! Can you believe it? It was so cute the look on Kelt's face, he was so proud. Then come to find out they do about 10 more heats (seriously it took forever, LOL) So then Kelton took 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. So in the end overall he didn't place in the top spots but they are winners in my book. Max keeps saying that now he has seen the others that next year he will know all the tricks and they will win so we will see but I think their space derby was awesome. It was about them making it together anyways. Max kind of laughed too because all the other space derbies looked perfect. Max was like you can tell the other kids dad's just did all theirs. Max on the other hand really let Kelton do a ton of the work on theirs, so ours looked a little make-shift...I loved it!

The first official Philpot Space Derby

My handsome boys...seriously could it get any better than that?

SPIDER UPDATE! Our Craft from an earlier post

Ok I dont really need to write anything. The pictures explain it all and it is hilarious. Some of my craft attempts turn out ok but this one is a far cry from perfect! LOL

What the end result should have looked like...

My Awesome Little Stepson...well not so little anymore!

I haven't posted about Kelton in awhile mostly because he is too busy hanging with his cousins and friend's to take pictures, LOL. Hence I usually only post when I have a picture to go with it. So I thought I would do a little proud stepmama post. Kelton has been doing so good with 2nd grade. He has got 100% on his spelling test the last two weeks in a row. I am telling you this is a great accomplishment for him compared to last year. His words this week are a little harder for him so if he only misses one tomorrow than he gets a treat. Cross your fingers for him! He has also been doing scouts. Dad and Kelton have been working on a space derby and the big race is this coming Saturday. Kelton chose to spray paint it black. I will take some pictures on Saturday of him so I can post them. He cant run from me then! LOL
Another little funny thing about Kelton and getting older...when Gracie and I pick him up from school he is so funny. Gracie will have Minnie with her and usually be running around yelling "BuBu" BuBu" and when Kelton walks out she yells "Hi BuBu" and he gets so embarrassed! I cant believe that he will walk way off to the side of us or way infront of us and not even say hi sometimes, LOL. I think his little sis is embarrassing him so it is so funny. I will say Kelt your sister said Hi and he will say "Hi Grace."
He is getting so big! I love him so much.

GRACIE'S bang's get cut AGAIN!

This wraps up her personality into one picture...my little cutie!

Gracie got her bangs cut some more. I swear this girl's hair is the weirdest thing. The whole top half of her hair flows forward so she always has it in her face and eye's. So we cut her bangs before and nope it didn't help because the rest of her hair was flying forward. So I had them cut again pretty far back this time. I think they will be way cute. The reason why I said I think they WILL is because I had them cut a little short so I wouldn't have to go back so soon. So when they grow out a little she will be a stylin mama! The one great thing is NO MORE HAIR IN HER POOR EYE'S!
Oh and her poor dad if he had it his way she would never get her hair cut so he was sad but I was thinking more for her poor little eye's and seeing! LOL

BuBu's (brother) Froggy Towel

I got Kelton's froggy towel out of his closet the other day and thought oh my heck it has been so long since he wore this and it could fit Gracie now. The funny thing about it is that Kelton was like "I never wore that linds" and I said you want to bet. I have the cutest pictures of you dancing in this towel and pulling funny faces. I told him that was back when he was 4 and 5 and not too cool for a frog towel :) So anyways, we put it on Gracie and she thinks it is so cool. She was cracking up at herself and bubu thought it was pretty funny too!

Preview of Gracie in her Elmo Costume

Gracie Lynn is going to be Elmo this year. Yes this was her dad and brother's decision, not mine. But, it turned out to be sooooo cute. I guess I think she will look cute in anything. This particular day Gracie wouldn't take this costume off and even took her nap in it. Then when I went to get her out of her crib she had finally taken it off all by herself. She doesn't undress herself yet but somehow she managed to get this big thing off of herself! The cute lady I bought this from also sent a elmos costume for Gracie's doll. I guess her mom had made her daughter the costume for her daughters doll and she so graciously gave it up and Gracie thinks it is so fun that both her and her doll get to be Elmo! So Fun!

Top 10 Reason's I LOVE my Job

10. I love that I get to get out once in awhile and visit my clients and do lunch. We always eat at yummy places which makes it a huge treat for me since my usual is PB and J with the kids. I get to have adult conversation and feel like a career woman for a minute.
9. I love that I can take care of our household and make sure all of our odd's and ends from errands to bills, just anything is taken care of. That way when Max gets home it is just family time. It is so different when you work full time and have to deal with those things at the sametime it really takes away from family home evenings.
8. I love the fact that I have the time to learn to cook new things and I even make bread from scratch!
7. I love that I get to be the first person Gracie see's and Kelton when we have him. I open their shutters and start off the morning in the most happy voice and cheer I can. Gracie jumps up and down and starts gathering all her friends (Minnie, Daisy, and baby) to go have breakfast. Kelton smiles but tries to hide it. He is getting too big for the song and dance.
6. When Kelton has a day off of school and we are just hanging out and we get to play video games together. That is totally our bonding thing we do together now that he is getting older. He will get all these toys together for Gracie and say Linds will you just come help me beat one level...and 4 levels later we are still going strong!
5. I have to admitt I dont mind the daytime soap operas and talk shows. I am not that great on watching them everyday but lets get real here...I can miss it for 2 weeks and I am up to speed, LOL.
4. I love that I get to sit down and read with Gracie and watch as she learns. She says new things everyday that blow me away. Her facial expressions as she is trying to tell me a story just crack me up. We are the best of friends and connected at the hip. Where I go she goes we are just two little peas in a pod and I am so thankful for that everyday!
3. When I get to go to the park with the kids on a sunny perfect day and we usually meet my sister-in-law there and we get to visit why the kids run around and play. Sometimes I sit and think what did I do to deserve this. Is this really my life? Watching my beautiful children having the time of their life and then running up and giving me a big hug.
2. This is a funny one but I love that I have all day to clean the house. No more of the cleaning the house after work or on the weekends. Even though picking up the house after those boys never ends. But, to be able to do the deep cleaning and laundry in the day while Gracie is sleeping is so nice. It is even better when Max gets home after his hard day at work and I can tell by the look on his face that even though I am home I have been hard at work as well.
1. Bedtime Routine, after dinner is served and cleaned up after and we all head out back to eat otter pops then it is time to go inside for bedtime routine. Bubu and sis brush there teeth and help each other then we all crawl into bubu's bed and turn out the lights. Kelton will say sis tell bubu story. Gracie in the most sweet quiet whisper just starts jabbering about whatever she wants and lays her head on his. Then she says Nite Nite bubu and Nite Nite froggy. It is by far my favorite time of the day and the favorite time of my job taking care of these amazing little beings.
CONCLUSION
I love that my job is taking care of the 3 most important people in the world to me. That I can give 150% to them and making our life as good as it should be. I would never want any other job in this entire world and to make it even better to have a husband that makes it happen. I love laying bed with him at night and giving him an update about what his little rascals have been up to all day and what they have learned or the funny things they have said. Almost 9 times out of 10 I tell him something they did that day that is exactly like something he says or does.

Crafty Halloween Decor with the KIDS!

So I actually got these idea's from my next door neighbor and thought they were so cute and something fun I could do with the kids. First off I did two ghosts on my garage lights. I put a sheet over the light and tied the neck with yarn and then drew on eye's, and a mouth. Then at night when the lights come on it glows. SO CUTE! (my sister-in-law has my camera so once I get it back I will post a pic of it so you can let me know what you think)
Next is a big Spider made out of a milk jug and some pipe covering stuff. I am not sure what it is I just know my husband has a ton of it on his van, LOL. So here is the pic of what it is supposed to look like and I will post a picture of what ours looks like once the kids and I are done with it tonight. What a fun activity to do with the kids. The website that has all these fun ideas is http://www.familyfun.com/

THRILLER by Odyssey Dance Theatre

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING! I have been invited to this so many times every year and just never got up to go but we went last night and it blew me away. What amazing dancers and comedians. The whole show was entertaining. I wanted to snap pictures of every dance but I couldn't so this is the best picture I could pull off the internet. But the dance showed above was amazing also. Mrs. Frankestein did an amazing job in this number. I would totally recommend it to anyone. Now I am so bumbed that I didn't go to the "So You Think You Can Dance" tour :(

Thanks for inviting me Hannah! I love our girls nights out even though I call to check on my boys every 5 minutes! Oh there is also a not so great close up picture of me and my sister-in-law that I will add once I get my camera back!

WHILE HE WAS OUT!

So while Max was on the Elk hunt this last weekend I decided to do a while you were out home decor renovation! Well I do something with decorating the house every year while he is gone but nothing this big. I will just start off by saying I worked my butt off! I literally worked Friday thru Tuesday 8am-4:30am the next morning everynight.
If anyone knows me you know I love to paint everything. I dont know why I love it so much but I do. Maybe I got it from my dad since he owned a business painting cars...hmmm. Anyways, Max doens't like things to get painted and when he walked in I wish I had a camera. His mouth dropped. He told me he thought I went and bought all new furniture and he wasn't too happy. That only lasted for a second and then he just ranted and raved about it. He absolutely loves our new room. I also changed out all of our pictures in our room because we only had pictures of the kids all over the place. I realized I didn't have one picture of us out anymore. So I decided since my entire house is covered with the kids than our room is just pictures of us and different milestones in our marriage/relationship. So it is a very romantic room. I would recommend that to anyone!
Let me know what you think.
I did get my new couches in the house tonight and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM! Finally after waiting 5 years for a new couch I have it in my living room. I am still in shock.
I will seriously stop tooting my horn now. I was just excited about a few of these changes in the house because I have been wanting to do them for so long!

Just a reminder that the party is this Saturday the 4th from 2-4pm. It isn't at my house so please email me if you want directions. Her house isn't hard to find.
Ok so I found an amazing website that sales all name brand jeans, purses, sunglasses, ect. These aren't knock off's and the prices are amazing. For a pair of True Religion jeans it is 80.00 dollars through this lady and they are regularly 340.00 in the store. So I decided to have a party so everyone else could take part of this awesome deal too! So I am throwing a party over the deer hunt...kind of doing it as Deer Widow's weekend shopping spree :)

Making a splash!
Gracie is so proud of herself after she goes down the slide. She has to sit and have everyone clap for her!

We have been going swimming alot lately at indoor pools for a fun family activity. It has been so much fun. I usually dont get pictures of Kelton because he is too busy running around, going up and down the slide, under water, ect. Kelton is getting so big but he still comes and gets me to go down the slide with him so that makes me feel good. He still wants to hang with his stepmom, not too old yet! So here are a few pics of Gracie going down this duck slide that she absolutely loved!

Date Night with my favorite person in the whole world!

Max and I decided to have a date night since they come few and far between and we invited some friends of ours to join us. It was way fun. We just went to Iggy's and then we were going to do a movie afterwards but our friends had to get home to the kids. Which actually made me excited to get home to my Gracie Girl. I hate leaving her for even a few hours but it is nice to just spend time with Max.
