In Memory of my papa...

Kevin Drew Perschon
Kevin Drew Perschon 09/23/60 ~ 09/14/05 Kevin Drew Perschon passed away peacefully on September 14, 2005, at his home in Murray, Utah, of numerous medical complications in the presence of his wife Tina Perschon, two children, Amy Perschon Treuhaft (Garret) and Lindsay Perschon Philpot (Max), and puppy companion Britney Lou aka Bif Malibu. Kevin was born on September 23, 1960, to Pete and Jackie Perschon. Kevin resided in Murray, Utah, most of his life. He started an auto body shop out of his garage at age 20 and built Kevin's Auto Body & Paint into a very successful business. He enjoyed camping, boating, traveling, and cars. Everyone that came into Kevin's life fell in love with him. He was very personable, extremely charming, and had a great sense of humor. His favorite topic of conversation was himself. He was always thinking, creating, and inventing. Kevin is a one-of-a-kind person. He loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest.
One of the reason's that prompted me to do this post is Max and I are cleaning out our basement to get rid of everything that just sits down there and collects dust. Well in doing this of course we run across things that were my dad's that I have tucked away so they dont make me sad. Max is so great if he saw something of my dad's before I did he would put it in a safe place and not even ask me if we should get rid of it. Even though I know this stuff we will never use it is just too hard to think of getting rid of it. So Max hangs my dad's ski outfit and coats next to his hunting attire. He put my dad's bowling ball next to all his camping stuff. I think he put all my dad's stuff with his stuff so I didn't have to run across it all the time. I have the best husband in the world. He is my best friend and has been here for me through out all the hardest times with my dad's passing. I love you Max.
Words can't express how much I miss my dad every day. I think one of the worst things about it is that Gracie will never know her Grandpa. He would've loved her to death. I try not to get too emotional at this time of year but it is so hard. I cant explain the raw hole in your heart after losing a parent. The aching never goes away. This post isn't for people to feel bad for me but more for me to honor my dad and what a great man he was. He was my idol when I was young and he did so much for his girlers (as he called us). Lots of people talk about the memories they had with him and for some reason all of my girlfriends talk about how my dad would take us to Mcdonalds every morning in the summer! That is his legacy, LOL.
I love you papa with all my heart. I love when a song will come on that reminds me of you even though I bite my lip so I dont cry, I love that it makes me think of you. When you are in my dreams I get to hear your voice and I feel like you are really with me. Death is something I think I will never grasp but more just learn to cope with.
Love,
Lindsay

Kelton's GoCart!

We surprised Kelton with a GoCart this weekend since he doesn't do so well with the motorcycle we bought him for Christmas. We parked it out back under the awning and Max asked him to go get him a drink from the fridge and you should've seen his face. He didn't know it was for him and so I said I think that is yours bud and he was like NO WAY! It was so fun. It took him a little bit to get used to it and he would drive really slow and then stop but now he drives it like a pro. Of course Gracie had to get in it and act like she was driving since she has to copy everything and I mean everything that brother does. She wasn't happy without the helmet either she had to have brothers helmet on as well just like he does!

Much Needed Blast from the Past!

So first I have to say I know my blog is looking a little dull with no pictures on my posts...we can blame my major camer issues!
So I got together with some of my best friends from Elementary and Jr. High last night! It was so much fun. We couldn't stop talking to even take any pictures. I haven't seen these girls in over 7 years. We all hit it off and are so happy to be reconnected. I mean these are the girls that I grew up with in my neighborhood and would run back and forth to each others houses everyday all day....So Fun!
Love you Brynn, Kelsey, and Britt (even though britt isn't my blast from the past but blast from the present) LOL
Love you girls I had so much fun!

I CUT MY HAIR!

Yes...I cut my hair. Not too short but short enough that it is such a change. Ever since I met Max my hair hasn't went shorter than the middle of my back because that is the way he likes it. So I was most worried about his reaction of course but no he likes it and tells me I look like a Hot Cowgirl...uhhhhh yeah my thoughts exactly! LOL ewwwww So anyways I am going to grow it out just a tad longer than this but I love it.

PROUD MAMA

Ok so I know I already tooted my horn yesterday and I dont want to sound like a proud mama or anything, hee hee. No so I get my weekly emails about what Gracie should be doing, ect. And she just amazes me everyday. First I have to say that I never have shoved things down Gracie's throat because I think too much of that and you will miss out on the fun and everything else. So I looked at my email and it says at 17 months old and 4 weeks they should be able to undress themselves and sort out colors and shapes. HMMMM Wow I thought that is way too advanced for Gracie but, I thought ok today I will give the sorting the shapes a try and just see what she does with it. OF COURSE SHE DID IT THE FIRST TIME! I mixed all the circles, triangels, and squares in a pile and showed her how I put the same shapes in piles. Then I mixed them up again and she picked up a circle. So I said ok now get me another circle and she grabs a circle, I say get me the last circle...sure enough she digs for the last circle. She went on to do amazing with the other shapes.
I guess my thoughts on this is although I dont believe in shoving this down your kids throats and they will learn with time I still would've never done this this early so I think we can under-estimate the kiddies at times. Just a thought...and
YEAH GRACIE LYNN....AGAIN!
