Carving Pumpkins

Kelton & Grace were so cute this year with carving their pumpkins. Well I guess they are always cute. Kelt of course picked the BIGGEST pumpkin in the batch. He is just lucky to have a stepmom that is in love with him and does anything he asks, because I could barely carry the thing. Then when he started to draw on it for it's face he drew like tiny tiny eye's and mouth. So I had to help him fix it. I laughed and said Kelt it is a BIG pumpkin meaning BIG everything. It turned out pretty scary. Gracie wasn't too into it. We put on the video of Kelton when he was 2 and carving his first pumpkin to show her how brother did it and she was more interested in watching the video of her brother than actually doing it. With watching the video of our little man at that age I cant believe how much Kelton and Gracie's voices are alike. Kelton even said for a minute Gracie be quiet we are watching and we said um Gracie didn't say anything that is you on the video. SO CUTE. Gracie picked a little ghost pumpkin and brother picked the biggest scariest pumpkin...Matches them so well!

Halloween Cookies!

So we decided to bust out the Halloween cookie cutters and make some pumpkins, ghosts, witches, and black cat cookies. Well I didn't make it to the store to get my usual frosting and do my "martha Stewart" type cookies. But the plain cookies looked just as cute and fun! Gracie enjoyed putting the flour on daddy's nose and in his gotee. I dont know how to spell that, LOL.
We will have to do it again with brother but just a start to the many Halloween events to come!

While he was out...2009

So last year some of you may remember my "While you were out" project was painting all our bedroom furniture. Yes that was the biggest job ever. Well this year Max wasn't going to be gone very long and I really wanted to get some paint on the walls to add some color to this house of ours. So I decided to attempt this myself. The pictures dont do justice for just how high these vaulted ceilings are. It was ridiculous. So I also finally found the perfect shelf to go above my bench and it was antiqued black...so of course I had to repaint my bench, and frames. So this one job turned into many jobs. In the end after a successful deer hunt Max was happy with my project...well it took a day or two of being mad at me but now he is happy:) LOL

2009 Deer Hunt Successful!

I have to toot my horn and say that I am so proud of my husband. He really has a talent for hunting and him getting his 4th deer in 5 years maybe isn't just luck. I dont think so anyways! LOL
These boys are crazy and left the house on Friday night at midnight to go on a 6 hour hike to the top of a mountain. This year was extra neat because he actually shot it with a muzzle loader. Which means he has to load it every shot so you really only get one shot at it. This is his first year doing a muzzle loader hunt. He shot it around 9:30am and then had to spend the whole day dragging this huge deer down the mountain. My brother-in-law went with him to help him which was so nice. Max said he wouldn't have gotten the deer down without him.
GOOD JOB BOYS!

Gracie just kept saying "Cool Daddy," she actually loved the deer and started crying when Max left to take it to the butcher because she thought we were going to eat it???? Weird. She must have it in her blood from her daddy.

She loved petting him and touching his antlers. Again, WEIRD

Kelton was so proud of his dad!

No one said it was going to be this BAD...

No one said it was going to be this long of a recovery...or maybe it is just Grace. I swear this has been such a rough week. I want my baby girl back. She just isn't herself, she is tired, onrie, doesn't sleep, and just wants to be walked. I swear I lost another 10 pounds carrying her around! She has her good moments when the meds kick in and her best friend Kaitlyn or brother comes over. Other than that it is a pretty sad site. I looked back in her throat and it looks aweful in there...POOR THING
Today is a week since the surgery so I am hoping for things to start turning around this next week. Sorry to all my friends that I have been MIA for the last week...I am just busy with this little one 24-7!
Love ya,
Linds
