HALLOWEEN BASH...The Philpot Way!

Where do I even Begin???

All the adults dressed up and we did a costume contest just between the adults and Jill and Jason won! They were the Mexican and Boarder patrol....
Our family is so awesome!

All of our cute, scary kids!

My handsome scary little man on the right...being JASON!
We did a costume contest for the kids and we had 3 trophies.
Here are the results:
Best Costume: Ashton
Scariest Costume: Kelton
Funniest Costume: Lucas

My little Bumble Bee...Or as she says "a mean killer bee!"

Our cute parents...as fitness instructors

I threw my costume together at last minute so we didn't have time to make Max Frankenstein. Kelton was bumbed but Max still was pretty scary. Especially when he chased everyone around with his chainsaw!!! YIKES

This was my personal favorite...Jerry being a personal trainer. HILARIOUS
WINNERS all around...Jill and Jason won out of the Adults and Ashton won Best Costume. Dexter won best dog outfit (he was the only dog)

GAMES, GAMES, AND MORE GAMES
We did a ton of games. The first one was the popcorn race. This is so messy but so much fun!!! Two people race to transfer popcorn from one bowl to the other. This is Gracie doing the race. She did so good!
Skeleton Scavenger Hunt
Although this game was alot of work to put together I think it was really fun. Each kid had their own color and a clue card as to where their pieces of their skeleton was. Once they found all their 15 pieces they had to run to their station and put them together and the first one was the winner. In this picture below is all of their cute skeletons and first place is on the far left all the way down. So Fun!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHLOE!
We also celebrated our oldest niece and grandchild's bday. I cant believe she is 11!!! It seems like yesterday when she was turning 3.
Hannah made this awesome pumpkin cake with Chloe's name in the back. She also made a skull cake with bloody pudding inside...Can we say Crafty???

This is at the end of the night after I took out all my bobby pins and my hair seriously didn't move even with all the pins out of it. Lets just say it made the outfit but it almost wasn't worth it after washing it 5 times and still having knots in my hair today!!
The things we do for these kids!!!

Gracie's Hair Do

With it being a rainy, windy day...I decided to try something new with Gracie's hair. Since her hair is almost down to her bum when it is wet it is hard to restrain myself from trying all different hair do's on her! I thought this one was kind of funky and cute.

Carving Pumpkins

Kelton & Grace were so cute this year with carving their pumpkins. Well I guess they are always cute. Kelt of course picked the BIGGEST pumpkin in the batch. He is just lucky to have a stepmom that is in love with him and does anything he asks, because I could barely carry the thing. Then when he started to draw on it for it's face he drew like tiny tiny eye's and mouth. So I had to help him fix it. I laughed and said Kelt it is a BIG pumpkin meaning BIG everything. It turned out pretty scary. Gracie wasn't too into it. We put on the video of Kelton when he was 2 and carving his first pumpkin to show her how brother did it and she was more interested in watching the video of her brother than actually doing it. With watching the video of our little man at that age I cant believe how much Kelton and Gracie's voices are alike. Kelton even said for a minute Gracie be quiet we are watching and we said um Gracie didn't say anything that is you on the video. SO CUTE. Gracie picked a little ghost pumpkin and brother picked the biggest scariest pumpkin...Matches them so well!

Halloween Cookies!

So we decided to bust out the Halloween cookie cutters and make some pumpkins, ghosts, witches, and black cat cookies. Well I didn't make it to the store to get my usual frosting and do my "martha Stewart" type cookies. But the plain cookies looked just as cute and fun! Gracie enjoyed putting the flour on daddy's nose and in his gotee. I dont know how to spell that, LOL.
We will have to do it again with brother but just a start to the many Halloween events to come!

While he was out...2009

So last year some of you may remember my "While you were out" project was painting all our bedroom furniture. Yes that was the biggest job ever. Well this year Max wasn't going to be gone very long and I really wanted to get some paint on the walls to add some color to this house of ours. So I decided to attempt this myself. The pictures dont do justice for just how high these vaulted ceilings are. It was ridiculous. So I also finally found the perfect shelf to go above my bench and it was antiqued black...so of course I had to repaint my bench, and frames. So this one job turned into many jobs. In the end after a successful deer hunt Max was happy with my project...well it took a day or two of being mad at me but now he is happy:) LOL
