My sick little Girl! Long story I know but it has been a rough ride.

So Gracie Lynn must have her dad's gene's in the getting sick department. We have had such a rough past couple of months. It all started about 2 weeks before Halloween. Gracie got strep throat. So she gets on the meds and a week later brother has strep. So we get him on the meds. From there on out so far Kelt has stayed away from getting sick! So anyways a week after Gracie is finished with her antibiotic she starts getting the strep throat rash on her belly again. (fyi: Kelton got strep all the time when he was gracie's age and never got a rash with it, but she does and to find out that it is common when they have strep). So I take her in and yep she has it again. So here goes another antibiotic. So she is done with this one and like 4 days later is still sick such a bad cold and cough. I seriously wasn't even taking this girl out of the house. When I let her go out in the snow it was for 2 minutes for pictures seriously, errrghh. So take her in to the doctor again and she now has ear infections and strep. So she gets on antibiotics again. 5 days after she is done with those ones (these are like 10 day courses of antibiotics, so we are talking like 2 months of this) I take her to the ear nose and throat doctor. He says she needs her tonsils out because they are huge and she has had strep 3 times in a month and a half...but she also has a severe ear infection. SERIOUSLY I AM A FAILURE AS A MOTHER AT THIS POINT. How in the heck can she possibly catch anything with the stuff she has been on. So yep another antibiotic and at this point I go to the health food store and buy $100 worth of natural stuff to get her better. So I take her back to the peditrician after the last course and yep severe severe ear infection. So she had to get a shot of antibiotics for 3 days in a row. 1 per day was complete hell I tell you. So I take her back last Monday and she still has the ear infection but we are just going to watch it. NO MORE ANTIBIOTICS. She is seriously going to be immune to them at this point.
As for the tonsils getting out the ENT doc says to me she needs to be healthy for 2 weeks before we can schedule. Well I told him I would see him in a year!
Seriously I cant help but think what am I doing wrong? I just feel so bad for her. She still dances and is a ham and the cutest thing ever though. I will post a video of her dancing like Tinkerbell but the cough is basically all you hear!

Poor Gracie! Poor Linds!! Been there done the antibiotic thing...and the injections are HORRIBLE!!! Kailee still says "No shots, mommy please." She had tubes put in her ears and happy sailing since....knock on wood. I hope she starts to feel better soon! If you need anything let us know.

CALL ME! She sounds just like Jackson at that age. Jackson had tubes, tonsils and adnoids out at right after he turned 2, young yes, worth it, ABSOULUTELY! Taking that many antibiotics isn't good for them, it makes them resistant to many things when they are older(I know that she needs them at this point) BUT, when/if she gets better, I would totally do it! We had the best ENT at Primary's, DR. Muntz, I am taking Abbey to him for the same thing!

Some kids bodies just don't fight infections..... YOU ARE A GREAT MOM! I hope that she gets well soon! Seriously call me if you need anything, I know it can be heartbreaking!!

I know what you're going through. All my kids when they were babies, always had high fevers when they were sick. It's so worrisome. But she'll get better, and you're a wonderful Mom!!

Riley has had these same problems.. All the antibotics and the shots!! Those shots were horrible, I always felt so bad for him. Riley has had tubes 4 times.. And he has had ear infections every time he gets new ones put in, so I'm confused why your dr. wants to wait?? Hmm?? Have them put in the anti-microbial tubes, we put them in the last 2 times and I have loved them, he has not had as many infections with that kind in. And we quit doing oral antibotics, I was really worried he would become immune to them. So we just do the ciprodex ear drops and they work really well. If you have any questions about any of that stuff email me!! mindieb@email.com Good Luck!
